Remedial Massage Therapy

Personalised, client-focused remedial massage in a tranquil yurt, surrounded by the sounds of nature.

What Is Remedial Massage?

Remedial Massage is more than just a massage, it’s a remedy (it’s in the name!)

The goal of a remedial massage is not to simply relax, relaxation is a natural byproduct of the massage.

This type of massage is aimed at treating specific issues, injuries or pain.

It includes an assessment and consultation, manual therapy and an individualised treatment plan, equipping you with the tools to look after yourself at home.

Different techniques that can be used include Myofascial Release, which is very gentle and slow, Trigger Point Therapy to get rid of those achy spots in your muscles, passive or client involved stretches, Myofascial Cupping and Dry Needling.

Meet Your Therapist

Becca Denno

I lived with chronic back pain for years, and it felt debilitating. My journey to understand the ‘why and how’ of my pain led me to becoming a massage therapist, and I’ve continued on the path of learning to better understand the complexities of pain and the body.

I don’t believe in a ‘one size fits all’ treatment, and I approach every client with empathy and understanding, striving to support them on their journey to healing.

I hold a Cert IV in Massage Therapy, a Diploma of Remedial Massage (HLT52021), a certificate in Myofascial Cupping Technique (CHS) and a certificate in Dry Needling from A.C.E.

dry needling

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a targeted technique used to treat tight, overactive muscles—often referred to as trigger points.

Using a fine, sterile needle, dry needling works directly on the muscle tissue to create a small, controlled response. This helps reduce excessive nerve activity at the motor end plate, allowing the muscle to “reset” and return to a more normal resting length.

Dry needling is often used alongside remedial massage and movement-based treatment to get longer-lasting results and help you move and feel your best.

cupping massage

Myofascial Cupping

Myofascial cupping is a technique that uses suction to gently lift the skin and underlying tissues, rather than compressing them like traditional massage. This creates space within the tissue, helping to reduce tension, improve mobility, and encourage better movement.

From a biomechanical perspective, cupping helps separate layers of fascia and muscle that may have become restricted or “stuck” together. By improving tissue glide, it allows muscles to contract and relax more freely, reducing strain on joints and surrounding structures.

Myofascial Cupping also increases local blood flow and stimulates the lymphatic system, supporting the delivery of oxygen and nutrients while assisting the removal of metabolic waste.

This modality is often used alongside remedial massage and movement-based treatment to get longer-lasting results and help you move and feel your best.
